🍐 BEA JINSEON

역사를 공부하고 미술로 노동한다. 20세기 전환기에 서구가 만든 근대와 그 번안들이 동시대에까지 맴돌면서 영향을 미친 궤적을 독립적으로 연구한다. 특히 1910년대와 20년대 여성들의 노동과 성에 관심을 가지고, 과거 기록들을 탐구하며 노동자로서도 충분히 행복하기 위한 방법을 찾고 있다. 한시적으로는 여기저기 떠돌며 미술 전시를 기획하고 실행하는 일을 하고, 그렇게 번 돈을 모아 사이비 역사책을 펴낸다.

🧐 MONOKEL

모노켈은 사이비 역사책을 만드는 출판 프로젝트다. 과거 사건에서 흘러간 단면들을 포착하고자 역사로 회색만화를 그리거나 영화 잡지를 발간하기도 한다. 특히 20세기 초 여성들의 삶에 관심을 가지며, 요즘은 바지 입은 여성들의 흔적을 탐구하고 있다.

Monokel creates gray-tone graphic novels that capture fragments of the past through a historical lens. It explores women’s lives in the early 20th century, tracing and publishing film magazines about cross-dressing women in silent cinema.
